Life is often born of love
Conceived with blood and pain
And in the rain of days that follow
Some days bright
Some days sorrow

There lives within my bones
A want for idyllic, untroubled homes
And even in my darkest night
My heart will stubbornly hold on tight

Comment from author about the poem: I didn’t choose to be born, but here I am. Life wants to live and sometimes surprisingly so in the darkest hours.
