Deception

boot

A silhouette..the tallest..
Sadly..drooping free
Surrounded by her children's bones
Just another tree

Saved by worries for another
Endangered..so they say
Who gives a hoot..in fact..it's moot
Greenday's had it's day

Environment's requirements...
Pale..to the bill
Lobbyists..economists
Coffers...large..to fill

Governments attempt to sway
The public.. to believe
They're not in hand with corporate grand
Sadly..they deceive

You..and me..and all we be
All that gives us life
Wanting..needing..mother's bleeding
We've fallen on the knife

Of greed
