and in 20 years
i hope to see you in a home
that isn't mine
a home of parents
that isn't their children's
in 20 years
i will carry no regret
i will carry no guilt
i will only carry the relief of not having you anymore
in 20 years
my arms won't bleed
and i won't disappoint anyone
and i won't sit alone
in 20 years
i will build a better life
without you
i will learn how to love again
in 20 years
you will have nothing left to say
you will have nothing left to know
you will have nothing left to be upset with
nothing left to be happy with
nothing left to be okay with
you will only have yourself to be with
you will sit with yourself
you will look out windows
you will wonder how i am
you will regret what you did
and you will never forgive yourself
and in 20 years
i will be better
shame on you
