I always wondered why Allah takes our parents away from us,
When He knows we can't live without their gentle touch.
Their absence leaves a void so vast and deep,
A wound that time alone can never hope to keep.
I always wondered, is there a way to speak,
To those in the afterlife we earnestly seek?
To send our love across that great divide,
To let them know our hearts are still allied.
I always wondered, is there a way to see,
Their faces smiling, ever close to me?
To ask them to come near when we’re in need,
To comfort us in our deepest grief indeed?
I know Allah sends someone to our life,
To teach us through the joy and strife.
But when their teaching ends, they fade away,
Leaving lessons etched in the light of day.
I always wondered when this teaching will cease,
When will our hearts find enduring peace?
Why those we cherish must swiftly depart,
Leaving us to navigate the ache in our heart.
There’s a lot of questions, and I always ponder,
Seeking answers in the silent wonder.
In faith and prayer, through night and day,
I hope for solace in the words I say.
