Little Inquisitive Child

DeadRose

Two houses revolved around a tight thread

Nothing heard between them except for the whisper of a call

Across the canyon for 7 years

All was still and then one year the thread became a rope, the rope became a bridge

Once more a bridge,

But this time the bridge

Though rebuilt the bridge

The bridge

Still held gaps, the bridge

Was never really sturdy, that bridge.

Often there was a girl, on one side of the bridge who would peer over

And wonder why.

Why

Why

Why

Little inquisitive child, you ask too many questions.

Little inquisitive child, this is how things are

Little inquisitive child, you are loved on this side.

Child, what do you hear?

The soft tones

of the dove when the  sun rises

with jeweled tones

And your dark eyes face the sun

child why do you wonder?

Why this is the way things are

You know why but at the same time

You don't know why but as you gaze across the bridge

You wonder what is going on

On the other side

The great fiery orb is raised on the other side.

Above the

Red roof

Of The

Other house

The rock of the night now  lurks on your side.

Little inquisitive child, don't cry

Little inquisitive child, don't be mad

Little inquisitive child, why must you blame yourself?

Child, what do you hear?

The soft tones

of the dove when the sun rises

with jeweled tones

And your dark eyes face the sun

child why do you wonder?

Seasons passed, flowers grew, then waned.

The flowers died you failed

Failure of the world child

How could you let such a thing happen

Are you stupid?

Do you not understand how to

Take care of your blooming flowers!?

One flower daisy joy

One flower violet sorrow

One flower rose of rage

One flower peony delicate

One flower hibiscus bold

Dead dead dead dead dead.

You let your flowers die.

What life lives here, other than you now, Child?

Little inquisitive child, don't cross the bridge.

Little inquisitive child, tread carefully.

Little inquisitive child, you never questioned why things happened to you,

Little inquisitive child you wondered why they happened in the first place

Little Inquisitive child, always solving problems, without your flowers.

Child, what do you hear?

The luring call

of the crow when the moon shines

with silver? call

away your black thoughts face the sun

child why do you wonder?

It would be wise to settle to stay on this side, little one.

One day the bridge will break,

And break

And broke it did

And you never questioned why it happened to you

Tilted your head

And asked if you could fix the bridge yourself

Little inquisitive child, remake anew

Little inquisitive child, learn it all.

Little inquisitive child, you can't fix everything.

Falling out of control can't fix it this time because there are no more trees no flowers no rope no sturdy structure was there even a bridge in the first place child hold my hand please don't despair child some problems cannot be fixed,

child, you may cry now.

Child, what do you hear?

The soft tones

of the dove when the  sun rises

with jeweled tones

And your dark eyes face the sun

child why do you wonder?
