Today

Today

Eyes vacant, we skim surfaces.

Hunting ghosts on glowing glass,

Flirting with purchase or demise.

Lingering for the tap-tap praise.

Caught in electronic warfare,

Puppets unable to string a word.

Enslaved by faces behind the screen,

Phones as shackles of modern day;

Loneliness, a shadow in neon glare.
