Do you also mean?

Meera Mere

When you say you love the moon,
Do you also mean the darkness it comes with?

When you say you love the rain,
Do you mean the muddy aftermath too?

When you say you love the roses,
Do you also mean the thorns it comes with?

When you say you love her,
Do you mean the scars on her body and mind too?

When you say you love yourself,
Do you mean the insecurities on your mind too?

I have one: it's from a saying: 'You can't have your cake AND eat it too'.
My line is: When you say 'I want cake' do you know you cannot have it and eat it too?!' heehee.

😂😂I don't want to have it, I want to eat it.

Hello Meera. Your poem is beautiful and it makes me think most things have a downside. Best to focus on the good points. Have a happy Tuesday.

"Meera, this poem is so thought-provoking! It makes me realize how important it is to accept and love things in their entirety, flaws and all. Your words have a way of making me reflect on my own perspectives and biases. Thank you for sharing this!"
