She Appears at Night

Summersounds68

She appears at night,
the goddess of the turquoise eyes,
a huntress that prowls for victims,
stalks them until they are caught and
carries them to her castle of the mist
where they are prisoners of her dungeon,
gaunt-looking souls behind the steel bars
beg for their freedom while others lie prone
and moan in weakness among the deaf walls
until they breathe no more and thrown into a pit,
until one day the skies turned black with fury,
when a volcano erupts as if an insensed dragon
spits her wrath of hot and deadly lava that engulfs
all in her scorch-filled path of devastation
which includes the castle of the mist and its goddess,
weakened walls and turrets tumble to the ebony below
opening the doors of the live captives who
stumble to their freedom from the spiteful goddess
who no longer is the keeper of their keys.
