Reminder

Samreen Firdaus

Dear self,

I know you're down these days

Because you're trying hard

Yet things don't work out

You're feeling like you're the dumbest

Who can't innovate

Who can't even think beyond the world

People are heading towards success,

Making their places in the crowd,

Inspiring millions,

Creating the world of their dreams.

And you,

You are just sitting

Watching every other person receiving appreciation awards,

Collecting medals

And you're feeling worthless.

Whenever you try to get up

And take a step,

You trip on something

And fall on your face.

You think everyone is doing better than you.

Let me hold you my dear self!

You're not new to these trials

Why are you worrying this much?

I promise

Someone is there for you, remember?

Someone who never leaves you alone in any situation.

He will make everything work out.

Just don't be impulsive

And don't lose hope.

"His delay is not darkness" I hope you haven't forgotten it.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is a prose poem. I kept it very simple with words and emotions. Especially for those who are going through challenging times and need someone to remind them that they are not alone, everything will be okay.
