Park After the Rain

Kinsley Lee

After the monsoon retreats, the park feels

Refreshed, with a clear breeze's blowing,

People rejoice as the rain stops, under

The faint sunlight which permeate the clouds, strolling.

Transparent droplets hang from the tips

Of leaves, swaying and dancing before falling,

Clear sounds hide among the branches,

Pop, pop, when they depart with singing.

Washing away the dust, the polluted

City streets are born anew,

Inhaling fresh air, awakening minds

To new, positive thoughts, and hue

Of green, and summer river, shallow

Waters, the carps swing and swim for mating,

Upon the verdant bank and river,

While the broad shadows which the tall willows're casting.
