A Dance Across the Firmament

Raadyaz Khan

In the depths of stormy skies I dwell,

A fleeting flash, a crackling knell,

I pierce the darkness with my might,

Revealing truths hidden from sight.

In nature's dance, I take my part,

A symphony of light and art,

I illuminate the earth below,

Where rivers flow and forests grow.

I witness creatures, great and small,

In their struggle, I see it all,

The cycle of life, the chase for prey,

In the wild, where instincts sway.

But amidst the chaos, there lies a spark,

A glimmer of hope in the endless dark,

For humanity, with all its flaws,

Still seeks to find a higher cause.

In cities bustling with vibrant life,

Amidst the joy, amidst the strife,

I see the dreams that humans chase,

The love they seek, the trials they face.

Yet beyond the realms where humans roam,

Where stars ignite and galaxies foam,

I glimpse the vastness of the cosmic sea,

And marvel at the universe's mystery.

For in the grandeur of the cosmic dance,

Where galaxies swirl in cosmic trance,

I am but a fleeting spark of light,

A moment's blaze in eternal night.

So let me dance across the sky,

A messenger from realms up high,

To remind you all, both near and far,

Of the wonders that lie beyond each star.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I have been writing poems for about 15-16 years, but I have never shared them online. Sometimes, I share them with my elder son, but that's all. My husband hasn't even seen them. I write poems primarily for myself. Whenever I see something that inspires me, I write. Reading my poems at home makes me feel good. Recently, I've been thinking that I should start sharing my poems online, whether people read them or not. It feels like they should be out there. Maybe someday, somebody will like them. Here's one of my older poems, inspired by the movie "The Lord of the Rings." I had been watching it for the hundredth time when the idea for this poem came to me.
