Little Butterfly

Little Butterfly

Never hide your wings little butterfly, show them your colours,

Show them what I can do so that they no longer have to suffer.

Little butterfly oh little butterfly wherever you fly to,

Your wings have grown bright, red, yellow, green and blue.

Little butterfly I am so happy that you have found peace and joy,

But please be careful that in your flight, your colours do not spoil.

Little butterfly do you remember your once dull cocoon,

Your shell covered in grey, white, black, and maroon.

Little butterfly I am so happy you have found hope and strength,

But please don't forget in your flight what your colours represent.

Little butterfly however far you fly, remember how you have transformed.

From a prison of flesh to spiritual beauty, I watched as you were reborn.

  • Comment from author about the poem: For me butterflies are a very personal connection I have to God. Whenever I have needed comfort or a reminder He is working in me and will calm the storm, I see a butterfly. So that is what inspired this poem for me. Being a butterfly in my walk with God to inspire others to blossom with Him too.

So beautifully written! I think my soul turned into a butterfly while reading it.
