A Love Like Mine

AndyVisser

I faced you, eyes blazing with rage

Tears of fury, a heart turned to cage

The truth revealed, the lies exposed

Your betrayal, my soul, forever froze

You cheated, tore my world apart

Left me shattered, torn from the start

I confronted you, my voice a fiery scream

But your deceit, my trust, forever deemed

I fell to the floor, in a heap of pain

Crying on the bathroom floor, with no one to claim

My tears, my heart, my shattered dreams

You walked away, and left me to scream

But as the days went by, the pain subsided

And I was left with a heart that's divided

The tears dried up, the screams grew still

And I was left with a numbness that chills

My heart is frozen, my soul is gray

I'm just a shadow, of what I used to say

I thought our love would forever stand

But your betrayal, crushed my hand

You ripped my heart out, with your lying ways

And left me dying, in a sea of pain and gray

But now I'm numb, and I can't feel a thing

Just a hollow shell, where love used to sing

I'm left to pick up the pieces of me

To heal the wounds, to set my soul free

But for now, I'm trapped in this numbness and pain

Trying to find my way, through the tears and the shame

Time may heal, but it won't erase

The scars you left, the love you replaced

With every breath, I'll learn to let go

And find a love that will never know

The touch of your hand, the kiss of your lips

Will fade from memory, like a distant grip

And though it hurts, I'll learn to move on

And find a love that will never be gone

In time, I'll rise, from the ashes of pain

And learn to love again, to love myself again

And though you broke me, you'll never define

The love I had, the love that was mine

You'll search for someone, to fill the space

But you'll never find, a love like mine, in this place

I was the best, you'll ever know

And you'll regret, the love that you let go

I gave you my heart, my soul, my all

I would have done anything, to make you stand tall

I would have given you, the world and more

But you threw it away, and walked out the door

You lost a love, that would have never faded

A heart that loved you, without ever jaded

You lost a soul, that would have always cared

A love that would have always been there

But now you're gone, and I'm left to grieve

Left to pick up the pieces, of a love that you couldn't believe

I hope you find what you're looking for

But know that you'll never find, a love like mine, forevermore.
