Forever Person

Sassy Lou

You said there was something about me

I was your forever person

You just knew it

Caught me off guard

Walls that I have built oh so high -

Wrapped in barbed wire too

Slowly begin crumbling down

I knew that you were my forever person likewise

Everything clicked

And that was that

Within short period

Halt -

Craziness started sitting in

Why -

What happened?

Our forever being deterred

Lost, alone, broken hearted

Tried moving on

Still you were embedded in my mind

Something about you

About what you had said

I was your forever person

That resided with me

Roadblocks infallibly in our path

Time never on our side

Days, weeks & months pass by

Feeling empty, lost, incomplete

Our lives converged anew

Both wanting to have another try

One last shot

See what we got

Father time on our side this go round?

You said there was something about me

I was your forever person
