Childhood Trauma

mtrotter1

The cupcake looks lovely in the rain,

For I dance in the rain with my darkness

How deep are the screams

When my blanket is falling apart at the seams?

For I am fine...really

Truly I am,

For what is a bird without wings

Waiting for the sun to disappear?

Oh mama, why doesn't daddy know about me?

For I see his face haunting my dreams

What desperate soul sleeps until noon

When there's nothing to look forward to?

Me, that's who!

For I dance in the rain

With my darkness once more

Oh mama,

When are you coming home?
