you were here but a lifetime past
moonlit nights on sleepy glens
lost in my fractured memory
laid to rest under darkened branches
headstone leaning as if to dislodge itself
making way for your return
surrounded by others who lay in wait
loved ones draped in black
follow selected conventions
wilted flowers mark their visit
specter voices echo your farewell
moonlight fades to grey
