At Bay

mtrotter1

As I touch your soul, will you touch mine?

A penny drops on the floor

Kiss me now you fool

For there are no people to be disguised

I see your wavering heart still touches

The same old bottle of brandy

I can't be a fool again, yet I can't help it

For you bring out the worst in me

The roses, the hardships, and the confessions

I love them all

And I wouldn't trade them

For anything in the world

Yet that same old penny

Has me flawlessly taunting

The very pages of your mind...

And that penny drops in my mind

Flawlessly,

For the bitter people are about to end

They cannot ruin our day...

Or can they?

I guess it depends on the alcohol you drink...

To be continued,

For this is a TV show

I cannot bear to watch

If all the cities should burn down

It will be your fault

For silent lovers cannot harm the rest of the world

If the rest of the world is toxic

At bay, at sea, and at bay again!

I'd rather die again in your arms one last time...

I promise I won't be a burden,

To be continued...
