sitting on the road all alone I stare
ive heard all the stories and rumors
yet nobody believes the truth
what then, if everyone doubts?
the thick forest around me
it holds monsters they say
yet what they dont know
is they welcome one in their house
treat him like a human, family even
though surely,
no human would be so inhumane
the trees have branches who reach out
yet though they seek to grasp
would never lay a hand on me
then is it humans who are more cruel,
than nature itself?
though I am one, should i wish otherwise?
I am not monstrous, nor do I wish to be
but others like me have done far worse sins
the ants in the dirt crawl over my legs
biting me as they go along
yet nothing could hurt as much
as what a human hath done
