The Introvert

mtrotter1

I am so beautiful

I can touch the sky

No one can make this picture fade

For this is a moment,

A moment in time that I'll forever keep

And why would anyone

Want to bother the introvert?

For our quiet time is our quiet time

And peace carries no nightmares

I'd rather stay quiet than talk

For to speak is to burn down buildings

Destroying all the earth,

And why should the earth be destroyed

By careless extroverts

When careless extroverts

Are accidents anyway?

For you cannot take away my peace

Unless you die,

And when you die

Will you be at peace?

For it seems to me that if we all speak

We will die...

For I don't want to die

Being the extrovert

And I sail the seas being an introvert

Riding on a train.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Yes, I am an introvert. And I am proud of it. Sometimes I am even a misanthrope. For this world has hurt me to the core...no one deserves to be punished that way by society. So I'd rather stay quiet than to burn down buildings with a mouth full of hot air. Society is ridiculous, because society is a bully. Are we aware of our actions? Are we even aware of how we treat people, even online? Life is hard enough as it is, and the world is full of idiots. I am mad because I have to live in this world, but I make peace in my writings. And yes there is a God. And he is real. And God is grieving because of the idiots in this world. Thank you again for reading.
