Don’t take me for granted
Or you will surely rue
Always do remember
I have a say too..
Don’t take with me liberties
That I have not allowed
Don’t have the false impression
That I’m a face in the crowd
If you really do care
Then try to be fair
Don’t put me on the shelf
Let me decide for self
I am ‘ME’
A person you can see
So pull me out of the queue
And give me, my rightful due

A call out that you wish to be noticed, appreciated and heard. You pen your stanzas well and with conviction. Nicely done NafisaSB.
hi. actually this is a tongue in cheek shout out to those who profess to be closest to me, and then fawn over all others in company..My self respect is important, so even though i cant call them out, i can at least pen my feelings and feel relaxed because i am self sufficient by myself, even though i am an extrovert.
That’s what I love most about poetry. It is so subjective and open to interpretation. It was good to learn what was in your mind as you composed your lines.
yes - one can pen down what one does not want to talk about, and that takes a load off the chest
yes - one can pour out what's in one heat, and then either store it or publish it
thanks for the comments - have a lovely weekend
