The Manuscript

daniel1989

Sorrounded with silence, room lit with candles

A fountain pen's ink spilled on a hardwood floor

I long for the rust, felt on the door handle

Ten book pages, turned to dresses, they have worn

Melting candle wax on the book we'd read

A scripture we thought we'd have to follow

A sharp edged knife, didn't thought we'd bleed

We both swam through a water that's shallow

Glasses on your coffee table, you're untrue

Alamanacs that you've read, hair strands, collected

All times we both wasted, all coffees we'd brew

Shards from the cups, bleeding bruise were created

The books we've read the manuscripts we have made

Matches were made, the colors of crayon fade

I love you, but it is ruining my life

You were supposed to be the love of my life
