The Pages of Time

Accidental Poet



 

Turning back

Through the pages of time

I’m drawn towards you

And when you stole my mind

 

How is it

You always take me here

Where my virgin heart

Had no sense of fear

 

You washed over me

Like a raging tide

This can’t be natural

For a ten-year-old to hide

 

What strange feeling is this

Never been on this road before

No idea where it goes

But I find myself craving more

 

I’ve heard about love

Can it be I’m a victim

A casualty there of

In Love’s Recipe kitchen

 

I can’t help what happens

When I see you smile

The feeling that comes over me

I’ll be fine if it lasts awhile

 

And what am I to do

Now that you’ve taken my heart

Many years from now when I’m old and grey

I’ll remember this start
