The Pages of Time

Accidental Poet

Turning back

Through the pages of time

I’m drawn towards you

And when you stole my mind

How is it

You always take me here

Where my virgin heart

Had no sense of fear

You washed over me

Like a raging tide

This can’t be natural

For a ten-year-old to hide

What strange feeling is this

Never been on this road before

No idea where it goes

But I find myself craving more

I’ve heard about love

Can it be I’m a victim

A casualty there of

In Love’s Recipe kitchen

I can’t help what happens

When I see you smile

The feeling that comes over me

I’ll be fine if it lasts awhile

And what am I to do

Now that you’ve taken my heart

Many years from now when I’m old and grey

I’ll remember this start

    A fine write AP.
You read my book? '1,001 joys of life with KP'. It's a long book at 500 pages - all blank! lol.

You capture in this verse the exuberance of the young, when love first plucks the heart strings. Such a touching and tender write. Beautiful!

Thanks Bella. Some might think I live in the past Bella, I don't, but I am a frequent flyer though. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

Where would we be without all the precious moments of our past, we honor them.

Oh, young love. How very sweet and memorable that can be AP. You took me back decades. I had my hair in a pony tail and was wearing my party frock. Enjoyed your posted music. Thank you.
