Your Own Responsibility

There are going to be times in life when people are going to let you down,

And you will be the only person who will be able to pick yourself up off of the ground.

And in times like this, it may be hard to keep going on,

Because it feels like all of your hopes and dreams are already gone.

And it gets even worse when you feel the whole world is against you,

And you are trying your best, but it feels like there is nothing else for you to do.

But you slowly start to realize that this has been the problem all along,

And that you have been looking at this journey all wrong.

Because at then end of the day, it is all about you versus you,

And it doesn’t matter what anyone else has to think, say or do. 

If you believe in yourself, it doesn’t matter what everyone else thinks,

Because you know you have it in you to stay afloat, even when the boat starts to sink.

And this whole time, no one else believing in you was all you need,

Because you are the one who is watering the garden, but they are the one who planted the seed.

Them telling you that you couldn’t do it, or saying no, was what gave you the desire,

To keep going on and to keep adding more fuel to the fire.

Right now it is hard when you don’t see the results,

And it is hard to keep your head up and to move past all of the insults.

But you know what you need to do and you know what it takes,

And it is going to require some failures and some mistakes.

But you know it is up to you to move on and to let it go,

And no matter what you are feeling, you can never let those feelings show.

Because you are the only one who can choose to make it happen or not,

And that is because of your passion and desire from all of the lessons that you have been taught.
