This Is Me Now

tkatie118

Go, don’t lose your way,
Stay on the road
Rose thorn concealed in your soul
Rectifiable by discretion,
Aim towards your goal
Little unknown

30 years, she’s been striking a chord,
Into the heartbeat of thousands
30 years, and now she’s spilling her honest,
Recount of where she’s at
Born with incredible talent,
You know her name
Caging herself, truth undiscovered
Cloaked by fame
Through their envy, they treated her badly
But still she had remained so kind
Delivered a passage, reliant on dreaming,
Concealing nothing
You can’t change a dreamer’s mind
So place your opinion on the rack,
As we turn the clocks back…

Failure, dramatics brought forth motivation,
In which through her art, depicted dedication,
Her artistic dynamics swiftly shifted, though,
As time had went on
With society dictating to her, what she had done wrong
She announced to her careers adviser,
‘I’d quite like to act’,
To which she responded,
‘How exactly are you going to do that?’
Not deterred, however, by what had been said,
Made her determination stronger,
To prove them all wrong,
And disproving their theory,
No she did not need ‘something to fall back on’

Did she stay stagnant, within another’s observation?
No
Or examine herself wearing another formation of clothing?
But you see, facing the struggles within her own walls,
Can lead to internal incarceration
No one possessed the willingness to comprehend,
The hurt they were causing
Still stood, yet aroused by in-fluctuation
It seemed that through a lack of conformity,
A lack of allowing herself to be defined,
By the only her that you see,
Can depict one’s aspirations
As we begin to retell her story,
Don’t begin to bask in glory
‘Cause what comes with social conformity?
As we begin to rewind history

You can ask her;
‘How do you define success?’
She says:
‘Replying to what you heart says,
Standing strong by your creative endeavours,
Being the voice of love for all others,
Keeping up with every passion
Holding closer every lesson’

You can ask her;
‘How do you define success?’
She says:
‘Defying other’s expectations,
Grafting through all of life’s complications
Working through your implications’

She’s a person I know we can all look up to,
Someone who utilises all that she has been through,
To create a lighter, and freer path,
To enjoyment, and a life where she can be true,
Was not expected to be successful,
In fact, some may say that she was laughed at,
The notion she could be a successful actress,
Was ‘ridiculous’
Was not expected to make it,
But she proved them all wrong, she deserves this
Has battled through the toughest storms,
But passed through, even stronger
She brings the brightest,
Out of the coldest,
Handles rejection like a champion
And helps those who do not have much,
And treats them like an equal

Unapologetically herself,
She battled with herself to be the person,
Who she is today,
Refused to trade, or give away,
The person who she is,
To gain credibility from a stranger

She did things that she can’t change,
Yes, she did things she can’t replay
But even when things got hard,
She refused to run away
Supplying comfort for the lonely,
By sharing with us, her story

She’s found
Was lost, but she’s winning
Was lost, but she’s winning
Was lost, but she’s winning

She beautifully broke,
But now walks free
All of life’s complications,
Derived from her exponential growth,
Soaked aspirations
She drowned in the trenches,
But soared the sea
Now without further ado, I
Would like to turn the clocks back
As we drench ourselves in glory
From this heartache, cloaked story…
