my fluorescent artichoke
it came to me more years ago
than any tale dare tell.
from a fathers pride of alphabet
in a raincoat with a birthmark on it's chin.
it came within a whisker
where the lonely hearts walk sideways
to a box of pearls from gods own pseudonym.
it was a telegram from the snout in a devils tie
that lead us to believe all fruit is bad
and be tossed aside
like lost chords of a wingless flower moth
to the merry bones of china
holding food as fate in a fat mans spout
from the gossip of each tongue that spat us out.
we gathered as fine treasures
on our weather-map at dawn
marched three heroes hours
to our beds of gold and corn.
under ships light with our fish knives
we built a house of nails through bandaged hands
as our sweat glands lived and breathed
through honeycomb and oil.
we came within a whisker
to where the lonely hearts of heads and limbs
walked sideways to a box of pearls
from gods own pseudonym.
