A Breath away from Death

Avantika Mishra

My body feels light

My soul no longer mine

I am a doll

A puppet reigned by dread alone

I lie awake,

Desperate to hear the raven caw

Or hear the reaper gulp down souls

I hope she take me with her

Slicing the strings,

that hold my dormant core

Emancipating me,

from the pandemonium around
