Nostalgia

Neilton

The tears on my face

Are memories engaged

Brought by a wind

Of moments forever unique

Nostalgia drives you insane

It wakes up the beast inside you

Who collects memories like sea shells

And plants them deep in the earth

Nostalgia steals the hope of your dreams

Changes the mind of the child

Who only knew of white clouds in the sky

Only knew of rainbow and sunshine

Nostalgia makes you realize

The past is in the past

Will hold you as you breathe your last

The future ahead of us

Nostalgia doesn't recognize grief or worry

It combines them and creates a story

Of the girl who lost her mind

And only knew her grandparents happy

Nostalgia is a mind's trick

That wants to kill your soul

Taking every happy moment of the future

Turning it into an unbearable youthness

Nostalgia has a way with words

It prettifies your traumatic childhood

Only because you had your vulnerability

Only because of unawareness of cruelty

Nostalgia makes you remember

Happy times are not forever

But they worth a million wishes

They deserve your million tears

Nostalgia doesn't have a face

It appears in every form or shape

It is cruel and drives you insane

Yet again the satisfied smile is actually a sign

Nostalgia is a sign

You will forever have in your heart

Reminding that "Hey! Life is actually worth it "

" Life shouldn't cause a headache "

    The good old days?
Or for some - the bad old days.

    • Neilton

Well even for me some were pretty bad as I mentioned this "traumatic childhood" in my poem ! But the good ones really stayed in my mind
