of all the flora i have grown
there’s one self-seeding i adore
that brings in spring light powder blue
to fill the spaces in between
red tulips and gold daffodils
their tiny yellow centred heads
create a splash in garden beds
so loved by Beth when she was six
she picked a posy for her Dad
to take to his last resting place
forget me not is what she said
and who was i to disagree
so when she left them lovingly
beneath the branches of his tree
with innocence she paused to say
my Daddy does remember me

- Comment from author about the poem: My granddaughter has no memories of her Dad, he died before her first birthday. Her innocence touched me greatly with her words at six years old. I had to poem it.

Beautiful and heartbreaking. Love goes beyond life and death and lives on forever and nothing can stop the power of it.
Thank you dear poet. It was a very touching moment. We are blessed to have Beth living with us.
What the heart doesn't know the heart can never miss, it's all those around her that bring her dad's memory to her and I applaud the love you have all taught her, it's pure and she really does know the love that's between them even though he is not here, touched my heart enormously with all the rhyming worm imagery and meaning. Happy Saturday dearest Cassie. Kudos ๐น

Thank you Orchi. Pleased you enjoyed my forget me not poem. Such pretty little flowers. .
There is a sort of claustrophobic feeling in this sadness and loss. A poignant write. Such a little one will surely have the love, care, etc, all she needs, to have a full life as possible. One hopes so anyway. ๐
So beautiful. I love the imagery and the innocence.

A most sweet and hauntingly innocent poem of love and loss through the fanciful eyes of a child. The imagery was wonderful and the rhyme scheme was perfect for this piece. Brilliant!
