Scarlet forest

Andrew Charles Forrest

Scarlet forest

There is a scarlet forest

Where winged things, it seems

all play and dance ‘till daybreak

Then melt away in dreams

There is a scarlet forest

That children never leave

Some adults never see it

Because they don’t believe

There is a scarlet forest

That’s really hard to find

But we spent most our lives there

We hope she doesn’t mind

There is a scarlet forest

That one day we must part

But when we’re just the wind within it
We'll still be in her heart
