Since ya left me gal
a've tried
ta 'flush' yer
mem'ry, frum the
transmission
uv ma broken heart---
In this Jiffy-Lube station
a loneliness ah stand,
an the dipstick uv
our love
jest keeps readin'
thet we'ze
still a quart low.
ah still seeze yer
purty face;
yer still there,
like-en thet
squashed butterfly
on ma windshield
thet ma wipers
jest cain't seem
ta remove, completely--
this pickup truck a luv
thet we once knowed
'fore ya
split on me babe,
still needs
a jumpstart every day.
when ah turn on ma
hearts air conditioner;
the pine tree
air refreshner
a hangin' on ma
rear view mirror
uv life,
jiggles vigressly
always remindin' me a you~
