RISE AND FALL

Qurrathul Ain

Notice of absence from Qurrathul Ain
I'm taking a break for a while, for no specific reason. Maybe because, I don't get as much inspirations as I used to.

Like a bird in the sky,

Soaring high and high,

Looking down,

Growing more and more anxious,

Wondering how bad it would be if I tumble.

Unable to enjoy from there,

Anticipating the drop anytime now,

Because everything that rises must fall.

Like the sun rising to set,

Like an apple growing on the highest branch of a tree,

Must fall answering the pull of gravity.

Once we have reached,

The highest altitude of a mountain,

There's no other way,

Than to pitch down.

Like a child afraid of falling,

From a ride waiting to dive from top,

I am afraid of what is waiting for me,

After this episode of soulful bliss.

  • Comment from author about the poem: When I am absolutely happy, I always find myself uncomfortable and extremely worried for what is coming after this. Because life is completely made up of rises and falls.

Also when we fall we can rise and soar again
Gotta try to learn to enjoy those moments of bliss
The ups and downs are what it's all about
After all a straight line in hospital and we are dead
Enjoy the moment as I did when reading

The highs and lows of life. We have to learn to deal with whatever comes and that isn’t always easy. Beautiful expression here dear poet.

I believe you have to go down, before you can go up.

      • Qurrathul Ain

Yes, we do rise from the bottom, we rise from the fall. But it doesn't make the fall again any less scary.

What goes up, must come down.
