Haunted by Love

Avantika Mishra

My mind, a wanderer of her own

She travels miles across

In a span of minutes alone

From our time in the Bahamas,

to our late night calls,

My mind has you sketched everywhere

Memories of us embedded in my bones

My heart once still, begs for you now

Pleading for a final chance,

that i know will end wrong

The sunrays hit me, its morning already

I open my eyes, and see you leave me

I wait again, for the night to fall

And you to come around

  • Comment from author about the poem: The poem is about something almost all of us go through - heartbreak. The pain tangled with the memories might resolve over time but the fond recollections of your once-significant other always remain.
