Mind

sunshine777

My mind is often times my worst enemy

It can be so against everything my heart says

Unsure if it is a real friend to me

Dirty tricks my mind throws around

Striking my heart and trying to leave me bound

I say God loves me

It will be alright

Mind replies your a warrior

Don't you dare stop the fight

My heart throbs just love

There is nothing above

My mind comes back they deserve it

Them dirty little scrubs

To my heart I am apologizing

My mind I am consoling

No I was not just fantasizing

Like Dr. king said I had a dream

I had one to and now I want to scream

To the man who tried to trap me

You never knew

The more you tried to break me was the higher I flew

My soul died for a minute

Due to the abuse

God loves me too much to let me die that way

He refused

My mind said break loose

Finally my heart agreed

So I cut the noose

So often we can find our heart and our minds aren’t in sync. The mind can play such games . Nicely penned Sunshine.
