Some Thoughts on Poetry

Poetry is what makes the world seem real.

It’s like the dregs at the bottom of a vat of ale

the sediment in a cask of wine, the worm in your tequila.

Poetry is born in the mind, but comes from the heart.

It is the idea of love, the vision of beauty

and the notion of happiness.

Poetry is instinctive, but never finished

filled with powerful emotions

inspired from never-known sources.

Poetry is limited, as the brush limits the artist

the instrument limits the musician,

the camera limits the filmmaker.

Its limits are its words.

Thanks Andy. If we can speak the truth, maybe we are poets.
