Moving Day!

GenXer Shamrocker ☘️

Holden has been all packed since yesterday.  He’s thought about whether or not he should stay. “Absolutely not.” “I’m done with city life.” “I much rather move to the countryside.” Besides;  Jim won’t let his best friend spend another year in the city. Jim believes it’s time Holden make some good memories. There’s literally nothing  here; maybe a few friends. But when he needed them most they all bailed time and again. Jim has been with Holden the last seven years of his parents life. This man traveled thousands of miles to stay with him Thursday-Sunday. So much Jim has sacrificed. Jim has told Holden all about his deep feelings for Charity. Including how “I’m going to ask that girl to marry me.” He’s asked Holden to be his best man! He hasn’t even asked yet and he’s got this all planned. Jim also kept tabs on Harlow while Holden’s been away. “I’m telling you buddy; she’s a good one.” “A true lady.” “I’ve never seen her hanging around dating guys.” “Charity says Harlow hasn’t had the time.” Holden listens and hopes Jim is right. “I don’t know Jim; she’s beautiful; so does that make sense?” “Something’s not right.” Jim lets him know he has no reason to lie. “Harlow cares for her parents Holden.” “Where would she have time.?” “She works all day and cares for them at night.” “Now look at me and tell me you think that’s a lie.” Holden apologizes and Jim lets it pass. “Not all woman are like your last.” Holden’s last girlfriend bailed when his parents became sick. She couldn’t stand the time apart; so she split. “You’re right again Jim.” “It’s not fair to assume.” “Let’s get on the road before it hits noon.” Holden and Jim are now on the road! So much is in store! Come back tomorrow!!!!

Sounds to me like another "happily ever after story" GenXer. Very well penned to keep the reader in suspense. 😉👍
