Above The Water-Mark

aDarkerMind

above the water-mark

of one time's once more un-intended touch

it barked it's grease more maypole than a mast

as delicate as concrete

two palms crossed with sabre, tooth and nail.

where all else fails this hybrid of a verb

jumping jack-assed miriam in hypocristic form.

through energy of fins, the harboured walls

take refuge in the belly of a shark.

the sudden rage of steam

the tagged and tested molitov

each name complete in brass

(the other stufff)

from his own hands

no mercy shown for meek and hollow man.

on tomorrows page

no cage of sea

will tempt us with a bribe of sweet meringue

his eyes of gloss

from his own hand

painted on the blind side of a thumb

another day of couriers

we wait with baited breath

the chosen one;

Such a contrast between the final lines and the earlier text. Your imagery is sharp and unique. So creative are you with words. Another fine offering.

      • aDarkerMind

        very kind you are Cassie.

        many thanks.

Dark and sinister, you pait a picture, with wonderful imagery, of what is pervasive in our sad world. We do "wait with baited breath", we must. A very powerful write my friend!

I sometimes wonder just what we are waiting for Bella.
the powers that be don't seem to be winning.

          but, we wait...as we must.
thank you for your kind words.
          very much appreciated.

I always enjoy your perspective, great food for thought in a starving world.
