Clouds Over My Crescent

Petrichor of Love

As the darkness of the night does glisten

like the beauty of her flawlessly flowing tress,

I begin searching for a soul to listen,

Among many perfidious and those who don’t caress.

Among known, unknown and acquaintance,

I search for traces of her in people that life’s brought,

Longing for her beauteous countenance,

Like a beautiful dream within my horizon’s thought.

But my eyes witnessed, they did dare say

That this good time has to end today

As she had chosen someone for her tomorrow

So better be prepared to embrace this sorrow.

Tears mix with my footsteps on the path of return,

Leaving the scars of agony and hope on my heart.

Alas! Still, my heart does childishly yearn

To see a glimpse of the beauty of her art.

The night, like the beauty of her flowing hair,

whose face is oblivious to my heart's extent.

In the realm of distance, I return in despair

Seeing clouds covering my radiant crescent.
