I Live to Write

I am just another drifter

poems I love to write,

but when my thoughts are flashing

I put in black and white.

My words to some are pleasing, to some just lines and rows.

Am I to write in meter?

or just express in prose?

Some verses are plain and simple

and some are nicely rhymed.

Do I express my feelings?

or is that a shameful crime?

Despite the silly comments

and the envy night and day,

I am going to proudly tell you that my pen is here to stay.
