Timeless

sorenbarrett

A clock's chimes awakens memories

beautiful face reflecting the past

numbers marked in ebonies

circling hands lift timeless dreams cast

Returning circles, endless motion

bottom soon the top

each tick cyclone of emotion

riding the raise and drop

Grinding teeth a spring band

truth just random numbers

related to dropping sand

buried under dunes of slumbers

How very beautiful and mechanical I saw deep within the clock face and this also reminded me of my dear Mother who absolutely loved clocks. A profound write that has so many angles. Wonderful sorrenbarret 🌹

You reminded me of a grandfather clock owned by my grandparents. It fascinated me as a child. The mechanics of it and the sounds of the ticking and the chimes every fifteen minutes. All inside a beautiful mahogany case. Clicks these days just don’t compare. You brought me some lovely nostalgia and imagery. Thank you.

You are most welcome Cassie but I thank you for your read and warm comment of the past.

Oops forgive the typo. I meant clocks not clicks. Small screens are hard on my eyes lol.

Another memory: My grandmother owned a very old, battered bedside clock which she wound up religiously every night. The clock had no hands, it’s sole function to send Gran to sleep via a special familiar tick.
          Timeless nostalgia, Soren. Many thanks.

Thanks Dave I appreciate the read and your comment reminded me that time is not on the clock we mark it with movement, sound and any other sensation we have. I too like such repetitive sounds like frogs, crickets, rain or waves to put me to sleep.

Clocks? You mean those clunky things our grandfathers used? Kidding. Nice work.

Thanks Dan for the read. Yes those are the things, from hour glass to sundial to grandfather clock.
              Appreciate the comment.
