The Winter Star

Soyam

The Winter Star

My drunken winter star,

how you tried to erase your past

from your body,

How you burned yourself again and again

till you met different fates,

till your constellation formed along

different paths.

You dreamt of a cottage, high on the mountains

with animals, sunshine and rain

But, oh my winter Star,

you screamed through your stitched mouth

that still bleeds,

The empty sockets cried for help

While, they screamed back "Monster"

Yet, you remembered

You were the most beautiful star in your galaxy.

And so, you tried to erase yourself

burning to ashes

to meet a different fate,

to have a different constellation.
