In My Will

Maplespal

I forgotten a notion that once had life

hidden secrets that might come out

thankfully we disposed of the knife

no issues to be concerned about

separate cars taken, opposite ways drove

phones were burners, been disposed

threw the pieces in Peggy's Cove

location will remain undisclosed

arrived home late that night, had a beer

kissed my love, microwaved my meal

gave her some lie about just missing a deer

I promised her I had nothing to conceal

the notions of a forgotten secrets act

the two friends displaced by life's joke

that agreement, that brotherly pact

after that night no words ever spoke

twenty years and no discovery of a crime

feeling relieved heard my partner died

my health faltering and mobility in decline

in my will, the crime, a tell all, I confide
