The story of two gardens

A blissful paradise given for the first man created to roam,

A harmonious peace and rhythm they could call home.

All he asked was to not take from a tree with fruit forbidden,

For although the fruit seemed pure its core would poison.

Poison innate innocence and tear you from God's embrace,

On that day Eve put worldly desire before His love and grace.

Eden represents human condition of disobedience to God’s will,

A state of listening to the other voice and falling into sin's guilt.

 

In Gethsemane, Jesus declared not for my will but my Fathers,

Here he chose to endure all the pain and suffering of others.

He looked upon his death and carried the weight of the world since Eden,

Anger, violence and cruelty, a cup not his yet he chose to drink from.

Christ set his own worldly wants and desires aside,

And let his passion for God and obedience override.

Because of this he did not take a fall into sin,

Because of this endurance, Jesus was Risen.

 

The two gardens symbolise a choice in our ways of living. 

A rich encounter with Christ or false fruit the world is giving.

Are you Adam and Eve choosing to believe the enemy,

Acting on the lies, and hiding from God in shame and insecurity.

Or are you Jesus making yourself fully available to God at all times,

Sacrificially living for his will, not your own, walking for eternal life.  

Separate yourself from the gentiles and seek to be willing and obedient.
