Posing at the end of the street
Bent over with anxiety
I brazen it out
Flirting with vampires
Dancing with a lukewarm breeze
A mindful culture erased
Under dark lit skies
Sure, you have a good heart
Behind your façade
Drowning like an angel in despair
He speaks about the Hindu god of wisdom
And diplomas in architecture
I speak about romantic walks in the park and Wordsworth
I think I like him more than I can say
I get lost in him, like Voltaire and Rousseau
He calls me baby and when he says my name
I'm sketching blank verses, ice skating through palaces
He's like the blue-grey dusk I adore
Derelict buildings, red and gold, the kindness of strangers
Hearts covered in graffiti, in sweat and filth
I walk past the art school, studying little anachronisms
Drinking orange juice and listening to the bells
I watch the gorgeous lights bursting with an electric aura
Complementing the skyline like a sensual epic.
