NIGERIA 🇳🇬

Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke

Notice of absence from Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke
I will surely get back to you when I come online.

At a time like this,
When Nigerians
have exercised their franchises,
To choose a dear leader.

A hope for a New Nigeria
seems to be drifting away,
Rigging their only weapon,
Rubbery at broadway light.

At polling units,
Thugs sent as missionaries,
To thwart the Obidient movement.

Under the scorching sun
and in the mocking rain,
Many legs stood,
To put an end to suffering.

At polling units, ballot boxes snatched
By disciples of,
"I must become president"
"It is my turn".

Many eyes are watching,
To the ceremony of rigging,
Obasanjo has sent his caution,
"No BVAS, no result".

The cloud is gloomy,
Tension has visited Nigeria,
Heaven has sent her emissaries,
Revolution is coming,
A New Nigeria is Possible.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem reflects on Nigeria's election and how the people's mandate was thwarted in a broad day light. Many killed and wounded to rig election in favour of political gladiators.
