i'll stay alive

fire_fly

I might as well live
not for me, but for Him whom I fear
because the message, I got it clear:
"smoke asphyxiates you,
scars never leave,
flames tear you,
so roll over your sleeve
blood will drop,
pain won't stop;
is that how you want to live ?"

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is a poem is a continuation of a poem that really touched me with it's message: "Resumé" of Dorothy Parker https://mypoeticside.com/show-classic-poem-21471 So I decided to add some other lines, changing some little details, still adressing the same topic of self-destruction.
