Thoughts 11
Now, for some of us
is the best of times, others
fear that to be true.
If you do nothing,
when you have nothing to do
you’re on vacation.
Fools rue what they say.
Wise men regret their silence.
Lovers lament both.
Congratulations
like champagne, are best served
while they still bubble.
Equality’s flaw
is, we desire it only
with those above us.

So damn wise true and powerful love the stanza of the champagne, it simply isn't the same when it's flat. 🌹
Thanks, Teddy15. I'm more of a wise guy than wise man.
It is clear to me that much creative thought, insight and a sapiential awareness all came together at precisely the write moment in order for this little beauty to be conceived in the first instance and delivered perfectly formed .. a real belter if you don't mind me saying so .. and that champagne reference is to die for my friend .. Neville
Thanks, Neville. I save them up 'til I have a few and then post them. I was at a celebration about a year ago and someone said that to me.

Great stanza. A lot of truth in this piece.
Thanks SB. To a poet, truth is life.
Champagne is well covered here, and yes I'd agree. but I continue to be drawn back to your opening stanza, Phil.
I found it hard initially to get past that one.
Thanks DD. That first stanza is the newest, and probably is the scariest one.
Not scary - insightful and anger inducing.
Very good intriguing words Phil.

Thanks, Andy, A collection of goodies.
All good, last line really nails it.
Thanks, DW. I gather these up as I think of them and then eventually post the together.
