Lanterns

Framed Mirror

Entangled long thread
reaching the peak
Higher and Higher
Over the shady trees
Over the mountains
leaning to the winds
Facing the clouds…
Breaking the strips and fading the colours
one by one
Beating the heat.
The child who forgot the other end
leaving the kite
Lost the lines to find light.
At a corner over there hung above
Few feet above
the burning lantern glass.
Still silently seated shadows of
Purple lamps…

A not only beautifully imaged write but metaphorically deep in meaning. This is so well done in its pacing and rhythm drawing one on like the beat of a drum. Could we all be "the child that forgot the other end"?

  • Thomas W Case

    Powerful imagery.
