inspired by a painting.

Maplespal

the colors were mixed and spread on the sheet

the brush strokes so gently heading west and east

the splattered paint created a lively look

the blending of the layers the hours it must have took

the browns, blues, yellows, and the hint of red

this amazingly beautiful image still stuck in my head

the memories that painting brought back to my sight

i sat and staired at that painting for most of the night

a cat and a dog lay side-by-side, memories so true

this painting is now mine and will be in my private view.
