There is something about the space

the space in between

you and i

the air is thicker

things get too warm

And I’m starting to feel sicker

It’s not butterflies, too innocent to be lust

but something happened

in the connections of eyes

something I wondered if I could trust

but there’s something about this

space in between

you and i

a place where two could become one

it happened in a matter of breaths

but felt like a merge of an melody unsung

and ….

oh what a sweet melody we could sing

the potential seed of desire that flows within thee

To be honest,

it’s usually where one if not both of us try to run

because our safety and vulnerability have been invaded

and now a war has begun

All for what, you ask?

I have no clue.

I guess it just terrifies us

that some could see all of our imperfections but love our truths.
