New better than old

says generation Z

Pressboard mind controlled

Auto tune greater than reality

A battered guitar superior to new

A porcupine has character balloons not

Cracks in oil paintings increase value

Gravel in a voice makes it hot

Technological sugar

Mass produced plastic garbage

Here sound as a booger

makes musical carnage

I was talking to a tree recently.
I asked a leaf it had forgotten the
    Roots
    It replied
    "Are you a loon?"

    • sorenbarrett

Root chords may be forgotten over time, Thanks for the read and comment it is appreciated.

I must say I am a sixties seventies and early eighties kinda guy .. love prog rock and folk stuff have just got my ticket to go see Dylan in Bournemouth this November if he is still kicking .. not a great fan of some of this current suff .. like jazz tho'

        • sorenbarrett

Thanks so much Neville. I love all kinds of music but taking the character out of it with tuning the singer's voice electronically so it sounds on pitch is not for me too much character is lost in erasing the slight imperfections and makes it sound robotic. Appreciate the read and comment as always

The popular music of today is rotten. I'm just too old to figure out what the hell they are on about.
Your poem spells it out in spades. - Phil A.

Thank you so much for reading I have come to like most types of music but not erasing the character out of it with computer tuning. It is the imperfections of the artist that give it personality

Thank goodness for the playlist on my phone. What a miracle to hear the old beloved music with just a touch of my finger upon a screen, and I can take that miracle with me wherever I go. I get what you are saying my friend, great write!

            • sorenbarrett

Thank you so much dear Bella for the read and comment. Yes I have my favorites as well but even more I detest the erasing all the small defects of the artist erasing their character. I am anxiously awaiting your next creation.

              I love all kinds
              of music 🎡🎢🎢
              But, like you I can
              do without that mass
              produced plastic garbage! 😳
              Terrific read indeed! πŸ‘
              Best regards ✌️ Thad

Have to admit I too lean towards older music, but there are some new music that moves my soul. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

                  • sorenbarrett

Thank you for the read Accidental. It's not that I don't like new music but it needs to be authentic not plastic.
